I became a Naturopathic Doctor because I had experienced over and over the complete lack of options offered by the conventional medical establishment. I wanted to be given suggestions that would change my health not just cover my symptoms.
I believe that many of the current health problems plaguing the world are due to overindulgence in food, medicine, nicotine, alcohol and TV. The diets of most Americans rarely include living foods, and much of what is consumed is packaged and severely altered from its original state. Most people are fatigued all the time and consume caffeine and other stimulants just to keep going. This is a system that is broken. Often the health information provided via major media outlets, commercials and even physicians is lacking, and focuses on drugs and other therapies that never reach the core of the problem.
I believe that the role of the physician should be to educate people on how to care of themselves on a daily basis. Patients should be empowered to make better choices for food, household products, lifestyle patterns and medicine.
I strive to give my patients tools so they can take control of their own health. My patients constantly receive the benefit of my expanding knowledge.
It is my belief that health and healling is an instinctual process. Many people suffer from physical maladies because they have lost touch with their inner healer. By unlocking the door to great health using techniques like acupuncture, nutrition, herbs, qi gong, and lifestyle management all healing becomes possible. I encourage my patients to set goals, create an intention for healing, and to believe fully in complete healing for themselves.
