I find it hard to label the things these medicines can be used for because in my view all disease and health conditions have their roots in the same places: food, toxins, inflammation and chronic infections (parasites, viruses, bacteria, and fungi). Therefore, although western medicine has named so many things we experience in human health, Chinese medical diagnosis more accurately defines the roots of a disease state and offers insight as to how to treat to resolve the situation. My Approach
I believe in customized health care. Our bodies are so unique it is impossible to apply one method or treatment for each person and expect to see results. Furthermore, as the world has continued to change and factors in our food and environment challenge our bodies more than they have ever been challenged before; it is imperative and necessary that our methods of care evolve as well. Naturopathic medicine excels in this way, as most Naturopathic physicians are generalists focusing on removing the cause of disease not treating the symptoms. In the Naturopathic Medical model, commonly used therapeutics are nutrition, detoxification, system drainage, gut microbial balance and inflammatory control. Proper application of information in all of these areas can then effectively treat any and all conditions as all disease is the result of poor management of inflammation which has its roots in diet, toxicity, poor drainage and gastrointestinal balance.
To address the complexity of our human health, I use a method of evaluation akin to a modified EAV device as the starting point for new therapy. By doing this, I can properly identify and assess the stressors for each person, and then with that knowledge, apply the proper therapeutics to allow healing to take place in the fastest and most direct way possible.
Using this method of evaluation I am able to circumvent many of the previous Functional Diagnostic Tests I have used like food allergy testing, blood testing, stool analysis, and salivary endocrine testing. Although these tests provide useful information they have always lacked an element of specificity and for many patients they were too costly to be performed at all. There is a flaw in blood tests as they are only assessing what was present in the blood at the moment it was drawn, we know that the body is in a constant state of flux and can have dramatic chemical changes from moment to moment. The same can be said about saliva or stool testing, they are only as accurate and specific as what was present at that one moment in time. However, by assessing the bodies own electrochemical responses relating to multiple organ systems of the Chinese medical model it is possible to fine tune treatment and deliver results.
The First Visit:
The first visit with Dr. TwoMoon will be different from other doctor’s visits you have had. Before you come, you will fill out a short intake packet, and bring that with you to your first appointment. During this visit, Dr. TwoMoon will take a brief history and ask questions to expand upon what is found in your intake packet. Then, a full assessment of your health will take place which will identify food sensitivities, heavy metals, toxic pesticide residues, latent bacterial infections, presence of protozoan, parasite and viral organisms and challenges to your organ and endocrine systems. In addition, Dr. TwoMoon will complete tongue and pulse diagnosis in the classical Chinese medicine fashion. Once all of this information has been completed, a treatment plan will be created in which each remedy or herbal combination used will have been proven to be an exact fit for your body. This entire process will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
